Dr. Samantha Basile

National Climate Assessment Staff (NCA)
Dr. Samantha Basile is a Senior NCA Staff Scientist for the National Climate Assessment team. Her background expertise is in climate science, with previous projects ranging from regional precipitation to the global
carbon cycle. She has also led interdisciplinary efforts on science communication and op-ed writing.
Prior to joining the NCA team, Samantha worked as a Climatologist for the Great Lakes Integrated Sciences and Assessments Program (GLISA) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She later served as a Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Fellow for the Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (BASC) at the National Academies in Washington D.C.
Samantha received an M.Eng. (Applied Climate), M.S. (Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences), and Ph.D. (Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering) from the University of Michigan. She completed a B.S. in Atmospheric Science at the University of Albany, State University of New York.
